How does the chargeback process work?
- Customer files a dispute (usually within 60–120 days)
- Their bank issues a temporary refund within 24–48 hours
- Merchant (you) is notified and given time (7–20 days) to submit evidence
- The bank reviews all evidence
- A decision is made — funds returned to either customer or merchant
- (Optional) If lost, the merchant can appeal within 10 days
- Final review by card network may take 30–45 days and may include fees
