How does the chargeback process work?

  1. Customer files a dispute (usually within 60–120 days)
  2. Their bank issues a temporary refund within 24–48 hours
  3. Merchant (you) is notified and given time (7–20 days) to submit evidence
  4. The bank reviews all evidence
  5. A decision is made — funds returned to either customer or merchant
  6. (Optional) If lost, the merchant can appeal within 10 days
  7. Final review by card network may take 30–45 days and may include fees
